I’m the type of person that’s pretty quiet in a group setting (I mean hello, my blog is mainly about being an introvert). There’s honestly only a few things that make me come alive and get me talking when I’m around a group of people that I’m not completely comfortable with yet. Those two things are…

  1. People’s passions, personality types, or anything else that’s not surface level chit-chat.
  2. Things I love.

I’m pretty sure people who have just met me and think I’m really reserved are taken aback at how talkative I become when I’m explaining something I’m passionate about. Like woah, not only does that girl actually talk but she’s very intense about her favorite hair care products and TV shows.

The truth is that I’m very picky about what books, TV shows, beauty products, and other products I like, so when I find something I actually love, I LOVE IT HARD (Same when I meet a person I love- Hi Connor!) And I absolutely love sharing the products that I LOVE with other people because I want them to be able to experience their greatness, as well!

I’ve written a few blog posts about my favorite products, but I think it’s good to keep ya’ll up to date on what I’m loving. Things don’t change much for me (because I’m so picky), but there are a few new additions to my favorites list that I thought you should know about! These are the things I rave about in group settings when I otherwise sit so quietly people probably forget I’m even there. These are the things I tell random people at the grocery store about (I literally just did this the other day because this lady was trying to decide which toothpaste to get lol).

1. It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner.

If you’ve been on this planet for more than a few years, you’ve probably heard of It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. It’s a leave-in conditioner that repairs dry damaged hair, stops hair breakage, adds shine, controls frizz, detangles, prevents split ends, volumizes, and protects your hair from heat. I’d heard a lot of great things about this product and was dying to try it but wasn’t about to spend $20 on a 4 fl oz bottle (Yes, it really costs that much- at least at Walmart/Target). Instead, I ended up buying probably $30 worth of crappy leave-in conditioners in an attempt to find something that worked. They all made my hair feel greasy and did absolutely nothing to help it.

Eventually, I gave up and decided to buy It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. I was pretty excited to see that Equate has their own version of it, so I bought that to start with. Later I realized that Amazon sells the actual product for cheaper than it is at Walmart/Target, so next time I’ll be purchasing the real thing from Amazon. I’ve been using this for about a week now and it and I LOVE IT. It does everything it says it will do, without weighing down my hair or making it greasy. It’s 100% better than any other leave-in conditioner I’ve tried and I will definitely be recommending this product to anyone and everyone I meet!

2. This toothpaste.

I’ve mentioned this toothpaste before, but I just want to reiterate how much I love it! If you have canker sores or sensitive teeth, this toothpaste will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I used to get canker sores every couple of weeks and my teeth were pretty sensitive to cold foods. Fortunately, I heard about SLS being the cause of a lot of people’s canker sores and quickly switched to an SLS-free toothpaste.

This is my favorite SLS-free sensitive toothpaste because it’s affordable, it whitens my teeth, AND of course, it doesn’t give me stinkin’ painful canker sores or sensitive teeth! I usually just grab it at my local Walmart or Target, but it’s also available on Amazon in a 4-pack.

3. This hair lightener for blondes and brunettes.

After damaging my hair GREATLY a while back, I made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to dye my hair (or get it dyed professionally) ever again. My hair is too fine/thin to be damaging it with harmful hair dyes. In fact, most people would benefit from dying their hair less than they do, even if they have thicker hair.

Instead of dying it, I’ve been using SunIn Hair Lightener to lighten it up. It’s alcohol-free and it conditions and adds shine to your hair as it’s lightening it! I love how it gives my hair that same beautiful look that the sun used to give me when I’d spend my entire summer laying out by the pool (oh, those were the days… now I don’t have any time for that). AND it gives my hair that look FAST.

In fact, this lightener is activated by the sun OR your hair dryer, meaning you don’t even have to leave your house to use it. This is definitely a product that I rave about because I feel like so many people are damaging their hair when they could be lightening it more naturally! And I just love everything about this stuff. 4. This TV show.

I think Parenthood might just be the most underrated show in the existence of ever. It’s so freaking good that I STILL can’t stop thinking about it and it’s been more than 4 years since the last season ended. In my opinion, there’s not a single show out there that even compares to Parenthood when it comes to acting, authenticity, giving you all the feels (crying one second, laughing the next), and keeping you hooked. (Someone prove me wrong and I will LOVE YOU FOREVER because I’ve been trying to find a show that compares for YEARS.)

If you haven’t watched Parenthood yet, GO WATCH IT. My husband didn’t think he’d like it, but once he started watching it he was hooked and kept watching episodes without me (and yes, I was a little “mad” about that, even though I’ve seen every episode 5 times already 😅.)

5. This personality test.

I saw this meme the other day and was DYING laughing. This is me to a tee. I tried so hard to wait awhile before asking my husbands family members to take this test, but one day I just couldn’t contain my excitement or curiosity anymore and had almost every single one of them take it. And of course, I tried to guess each person’s type before they got their results. I truly love the 16 Personalities test and think it can help everyone understand themselves and others so much better!

6. This Mary-Poppins-like makeup bag.

I feel like this bag solved 10,001 of my problems in life. Okay, not really. But it truly is an amazing Mary-Poppins-like bag. I mean, just look at this lady’s review of it on Amazon (and try to ignore her spelling errors… jk that would be impossible).

I thought she was exaggerating when I read her review before purchasing. I mean how can you fit 3 large filled-to-the-brim makeup bags into one bag? 🤔 But I can now attest to the magicalness of this bag! I used to get SO annoyed every morning when I was doing my makeup because I’d have to dump out my makeup bags onto the counter to find ANYTHING. Nothing was organized and I was having trouble fitting everything into one bag.

I knew I needed something to fix the problem, but didn’t know I’d find something this wonderful. There are velcro adjustable dividers so you can organize your makeup however you want to. There’s a place behind the mirror where you can keep your brushes, a pocket to keep your palletes, and even a little mirror (for when you’re traveling or whatever.) I’m a HUGE fan of this bag and feel 100% less stressed every morning because of it!

7. This way of planning/getting your life together.

I won’t say too much about this, because I recently wrote an entire post about it… but bullet journaling really has changed my life for the better. I tried it a couple years ago but ended up hating it because I was putting too much pressure on myself to make everything perfect and “cute.” Since letting go of that expectation for myself and making my bullet journal more functional than “cute”, my life has been changed!

It’s helped me get my life together in a way that an already-planned-out planner never could. If you’ve been thinking about starting a bullet journal, here’s your sign that you DEFINITELY should!

8. This self-help workbook.

I spent a lot of time looking for a good self-help workbook and finally stumbled upon this one that seemed worth my money. Because I don’t always have time to go to therapy and it can be tricky to find a therapist that’s actually helpful, I decided to take my mental health into my own hands. This book is for anyone who struggles with regulating emotions, setting boundaries, etc. (so basically all of us). I think every human on this planet should be going to therapy or at least getting some sort of workbook like this. We’re all in need of at least a bit of emotional help!

This book was originally made for people with borderline personality disorder but has proven effective for a range of mental illnesses (and for regulating your emotions even if you don’t struggle with a mental illness). It’s full of helpful tips and activities that will improve your ability to handle distress, your coping skills, and your interpersonal effectiveness.

I’ve only gotten through a couple of chapters but I already feel happier and less stressed because of this book. This is an affordable way to get some of the help you need if you’re not able to get a therapist (or even if you have a therapist, as well).
