My Skincare Routine Ft. the Clarisonic Mia Cleansing System

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you’ll know that I’ve been implementing more routines and organization into my life lately. I’ve always loved routines! They relax me and make me feel more stable in my life. I just sorta got lost in the chaos there for awhile and stopped being intentional with my time. Fortunately, I’m back on track and feeling better than ever!

While getting my life back on track, I realized that implementing a skin care routine into my daily schedule would really benefit me. I actually don’t have a TON of acne, but I’ve never been the best at taking care of my skin. Truth be told, I probably removed my makeup before bed a total of 3 times the past few years. Just because I don’t have a ton of acne, doesn’t mean my skin wasn’t in need of improvement.

It was oily and dull looking… and I had pores the size of Texas all over my chin and nose! Since I’ve implemented my daily skincare routine, my skin is looking and feeling a whole lot better. I feel more confident. And perhaps best of all, I truly enjoy the process of my nightly skincare routine. It’s soothing to bring my day to a close in a way my body appreciates. So, here’s my much-needed and appreciated skincare routine!

1. Cleanse Skin with the Clarisonic Mia

The first step in my skincare routine is to cleanse my skin with the Clarisonic Mia! Clarisonic provided me with the Pore & Blemish Gel Cleanser to use along with my Clarisonic Mia. It’s meant for sensitive, acne-prone skin. It targets excess oil, blemishes, whiteheads, and blackheads. My skin ended up breaking out at first because it wasn’t used to being cleansed regularly. Over time my skin became more used to it and it began to work a lot better. I don’t think most people will have this problem- in fact 98% of the people who tested this product had fantastic results within the first week.

I can’t say enough great things about how well the Clarisonic Mia works! It makes my skin feel so much cleaner than when I simply wash my face with my hands. I love the slight vibration of the brush, which oscillates back and forth over 300 times per second. It does this to gently flex pores without damaging your skin.  I honestly don’t think my skin has ever felt this clean! I’m not at all surprised that this is the #1 cleansing device recommended by dermatologists. There’s also an Acne Cleansing Brush Head that I was able to try. This one’s meant specifically for sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin.

The Clarisonic Mia is proven to:

  • remove age-accelerating pollutants
  • reduce the appearance of enlarged pores to reveal healthy, radiant skin
  • allows for better absorption of skincare products and easy removal of makeup
  • remove the dirt, oil, and debris that age your skin and cause breakouts

After only about a week of using the Clarisonic Brush, I saw a HUGE difference in my skin. My pores weren’t nearly as enlarged, my skin was glowing more than I’ve ever seen it glow, and I didn’t get my regular dose of PMS-cycle induced acne (this was around the time of my period). After a couple of weeks, my pores were even less enlarged and my skin somehow looked even healthier! I’m honestly very impressed with how quickly I saw such drastic results. I’m also in love with the fact that the Clarisonic Mia is gentle enough on the skin to be able to use it twice a day. This makes implementing it into my routine a breeze!

2. Use Thayers Witch Hazel- Aloe Vera Formula (Rose Petal)

When I decided to implement a skincare routine, I wasn’t about to go half-in. I did my research on which products would fit my needs and work best and knew I needed a cleanser, toner, occasional serum, and moisturizer. I decided to go with the Thayers Witch Hazel Toner because it had great reviews and helps moisturize, tighten pores, smooth skin, and give your skin a natural glow. I’ve really loved it so far and highly recommend it for anyone who has oily skin that needs to be moisturized in order to reduce breakouts!

3. Use Sano Naturals Vitamin C Serum

I only use this one occasionally and only on my forehead, in order to reduce wrinkles. I have pretty deep-set expression lines on my forehead and Sano Naturals Vitamin C Serum has helped me reduce the appearance of those! It’s very sensitive, so it reduces the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles without making you break out! It’s also great for erasing acne scars and brightening your skin!

4. Moisturize with Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer SPF 30

Until somewhat recently, I’d never used a moisturizer before (I know *gasp!). After reading up on what products my skin needs, I realized that not using a moisturizer was probably the cause of my acne flare-ups, dull skin, and enlarged pores. I thought that because I have oily skin, using a moisturizer would make it more oily, but that’s not the case. In fact, using a moisturizer helps decrease oiliness because when your skin is getting the moisture it needs, it doesn’t produce excess oils (crazy, right!?)

It took me a LONG time to find a moisturizer I actually liked that didn’t make me break out, but I finally came across the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer with SPF 30 and fell in LOVE. It helps prevent and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and makes your skin look and feel healthier- all while being super sensitive. It’s important, even for young adults, to protect your skin from sun damage and aging. I also love that this sensitive moisturizer has made my skin less oily and has been great at preventing breakouts. I also like the Dirty Works Miracle Cream that I was using prior to the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair, but it was a little too greasy on my skin. Using that one at night has been better for me because I don’t have to apply makeup over it.
